I think that you would be much better off using one of the inexpensive SDR radios on the market for about $35.
You can just treat it as a 5x standard RTL-SDRs. Just opening one instance of SDR# for each tuner as needed.
Yep, a regular receiver radio can work fine for testing as long as the frequency range matches. I’d just make sure the antenna setup is decent too, since weak signals can make direction finding pretty inconsistent.
