RX Bandwidth used by kraken

Hello,

I am doing a DF in the 420-425 MHz, the source is 12,5 KHz, I have to go near the the top of the mountain and get blasted by the other site near by.

Is it possible to set the bandwidth of 2.4 MHz to 250 KHz, so I will tune out the near by transmitter?

Thank
Roger

Yes you can reduce the bandwidth using the advanced DAQ settings. But be sure to also reduce the CPI size to a smaller value, so that the data block length isn’t overly long.

This will probably not significantly help with blocking a nearby signal that is overly strong though as the tuner could still be getting overloaded. Unfortunately, there isn’t much that can be done. You can try adding external filters, but then there could be issues with phase distortion, and if the interfering signals are close to 420-425 it’s difficult to have an effective filter.

5x 20dB attenuators?

Attenuators can help, but of course then you are reducing the SNR of your target signal.

You can first just try turning down the gain, which is essentially attenuating the signal anyway.
