Newb here in progress of making a complete portable unit for foot movements but I am having a hard time figuring out a realistic way for a patrol/SAR style antenna. I know the most common set up is vehicle mount but this is for areas where vehicles cannot get to.
How big you want it to be? i put a krakensdr with RSP5 inside this dome. only a 12 volt supply cable out, working fine. inside is a 5 element flat antenna construction. so I cover from 27 and up, how far up i dont know. sensitivity under 50 MHz is poor, but at least its working. The dome is a radar dome. dont remember, think its Raymarine. then there is 4 suction cups under. its sitting so hard on the car, its hard to remove
That’s big lol I’m thinking something I can throw in the pack with the sdr and move through hills /Forest/mountains set up do a 5-10 min read pack up and move. Or wearable so I can turn on sdr deploy anteanns and be moving on foot while I watch sdr.
