Map Server with mobile Kraken

I’ve two krakensdr on map server and while using as a static station it works fine. But I’d like to use on cars to track some pirate as station.

The problem is that when I choose the mobile station and put the gps, it turns red and I can’t continue. Any thoughts?

Do you have a USB GPS puck connected to your Raspberry Pi?

Hey Carl! No, I don’t. Sorry for the dummy question but is it necessary? I really thought that it could use the gps from the cellphone as data… 8)

The GPS selection in the Kraken web interface is for when you want to use a GPS puck connected to the Raspberry Pi. If you want to use the app and the phones GPS, you can leave the location source as the default ‘None’.

But unfortunately the GPS on the phone app can’t be used to upload to the web mapper.

If I add a GPS puck with receiver will the system recognize it automatically or do I need to configure something in the Pi to access the GPS data stream?

It should automatically recognize it, as long as it’s a GPS puck supported by gpsd, which is most of them Compatible GPSes

Thank you! I ordered one with a Ublox M9 that is Pi / Linux plug-and-play compatible as far as the drivers.

Second question. Should I have the “upload to RDF Mapper Server” set to “on” in the Android app? I am getting the data in the cloud, while driving just without any location information of course since I do not have the GPS. I was hoping that having this set to on would just upload the Android app data including the GPS info to the server. The Android app is working fine and tracking the sources and producing the DOA, but I keep getting the “connection to RDF Mapper failed” message, but it is connected and storing DOA data.

No, RDF Mapper is a different third party application, unrelated to our web mapper software.
