We connected the KrakenSDR and Pi and powered them up. We connected via Wi-Fi and went into server settings. We connected our five antennas. However, when we send a signal, it doesn’t show up at all. We’re sending our signal at 153 MHz, but we’re not getting any response. We initially noticed it was working in the status section, but the map wasn’t. When I pressed Start Processing, everything started showing up as red and empty. Could you help? Thank you.
Can you post up some screen shots from your device showing the Kraken settings and Server Settings?
All your numbers and settings look good to me.
With the RF Gain set of 15.7 you might miss some weaker signals; chasing 5 watt transmitters in the 462 MHz range I set my gain to about 32. You have Squelch set to auto, but if it isn’t “autoing” properly, it could block out too much signal, so see the next step.
Bring up the Spectrum view, and post up a screen shot if it. Then hover your mouse cursor on the blue horizontal line on the screen, which is basically the background RF noise floor level, and see what the signal strength is. It will be negative “-” dB. In my area, it runs between -62 and -66 dB. I set my squelch 3 dB above the noise, so if the noise in -64, I set the squelch to -61. If you set the squelch to a value below the noise floor–say the floor is -66 and you set the squelch to -70, then the Kraken will try to track absolutely everything!
Finally, check the Android settings in the three “…” menu, and check “Plot Log File” just to see if it’s picking anything up.
Did you set your center frequency to 152 MHz when testing the 152 MHz transmitter?
For the mapping app, did you set the IP address in the settings?
Yes, we set center frequency. Antenna was calibrated and we can see signals in DoA estimation. But we cannot see signals on mobile app’s map. Can you please explain steps after finishing calibration.
We can’t see anything on map. It is not active.
On the app did you press the start DoA button?
