We have finally released the iOS-version of the mobile app. You can find it on the App Store under KrakenSDR RDF.

So what about the SSID? Still has to be KrakenAndroid ?

And is there somethin wrong with select save logfile?

When selecting that it will bring up the folder structure. And a filename. But i can just only abort and back out of that folder structure going back to the app. I cant hit save or anything else. And it says “No log file set” ???

Hi, yes please use the same SSID info as you would on Android for now. We’ll change the name or add another connection point in the next image update.

Great news Kraken team! Thanks!

As an exclusive iOS user, wonder if it is too late to return the new Samsung s9+ I bought a few weeks ago exclusively for Kraken mobile ops LoL

Lol I’m in the same boat. But I only paid $35 for my Samsung android, so no big deal.

Is there a way to make the display full screen on an Apple iPad running the iOS version of KrakenSDR?

It should be full screen already. Can you show me a screenshot of what you mean?

Carl,
She the attached for a screenshot. Stayed the same size in portrait and landmark positions. The sub-menu fullscreen option doesn’t work.

FYI, I have not received my Kraken yet…it is due to me this Saturday. Could that be the reason the app doesn’t go full screen?
Thanks
Dave

Thanks, I’ll pass your screenshot to the dev, it definitely should be able to work in full screen mode. Having a Kraken or not won’t change things.

Ok Kraken Team,
I need help. I finally received my new KrakenSDR, KrakenAnt and a Raspberry pi 5 with 8GB. I have burned the October 30, 2024 pi5 image with BalenaEtcher, placed it into the pi. It boots and I see the krakensdr AP on my WiFi list. When I connect to the AP and browse to 192.168.50.5:8080 I get the GUI; however, it shows that I am not connected to the KrakenSDR (see attached pics). The krakensdr and pi are connected to separate 5vdc 3A supplies and the data cable from the pi5 to the kraken are in place. The KrakenSDR is running with all the power and receiver LEDs on.
How do I get past this point? Do I need to SSH in and turn something on?
Let me know what I need to do next.
Thanks,
Dave

Could you please run rtl_test through the command line interface and then post the results here?

Thanks for the quick reply!
Screenshot of run rtl attached.

Hi, could you please go through the troubleshooting guide at 07. KrakenSDR Troubleshooting · krakenrf/krakensdr_docs Wiki · GitHub

Please paste the log files too.

This issue appears to be unrelated to the iOS app, it’s something to do with the Kraken and Pi only.

This problem is usually a cable or power supply issue. I know you said you’ve got good power supplies, so many try another data cable.

Thanks Carl,
I will give another look at the power supplies and data cable. Sorry for the off-topic post.
Dave

Ok team,
Found the problem as Carl pointed to; i.e, power supply issue. Found that one of my 3A supplies just was not cutting it. After finding another 3A supply it started working!
Now onto the topic at hand. I will continue exploring getting my KrakenSDR iOS app to work. I am sure I will have more questions on this topic.
Thanks Carl!

Nice, glad to hear it’s working!

Ok Kraken Team,
I have started using the KrakenSDR with the IOS app in my truck. I am having a problem with heading direction showing on the map. The Red Heading line always points North. No matter which settings I use in the app setup it always points north (yes, I am moving in the vehicle). The attached are my app settings. Please let me know what settings I should use.
Thanks
Dave

Well, I was able to make some progress after starting all from scratch (new pi5 image and erased the app on the iPhone and reloaded it). After I setup the app settings with all the combinations I was able to get the compass setting to work. Of course I would like it to be GPS, but that doesn’t work on my iPhone as of today. See the picture for my Heading sensor settings which works in the iPhone compass mode. I would like to use the GPS setting that way I don’t have to worry if the phone position with relation to travel has moved in the cab.

Does anyone have the GPS Heading Sensor setting working on an iPhone running iOS 18.1.1 ?

Strange, the GPS setting should definitely work. Do you have any settings on iOS that could be blocking the GPS? Are the location permissions enabled for the Kraken app?
