How can I monitor the audio of the tracked TX with KrakenSDR? Can I disable the fifth RTL receiver and use it to monitor audio of the tracked TX with another RTL SDR program? Anyone doing this?
Going to 4 antennas, is one possibility, but that reduces the accuracy of the bearing calculations a bit. You could also just use a scanner. Most models cover huge frequency ranges-if it’s a frequency that uses voice, the scanner will cover it, with a few exceptions, such as the cordless telephone bands…
Thanks Diesel!
I will just use my Ham Transceiver to monitor. By the way, just ordered my KrakenSDR.

Yep this would be best handled by a separate system. In the future we may refactor the code to allow for listening too, but at the moment it’s not possible.
We have a use for that also. We’re looking for narrowband, intermittent data burst signals.
Operationally, it’s helpful to monitor the audio.
Same here. I’m mostly hunting jammers, so I’ll have one or more transmitters on the same frequency who are NOT the target, plus the bad boy. The screen button to start/stop tracking is ok, but not great when driving. I’m lobbying for a “Pickle Switch” on the GPIO which I could hold in one hand or even rig as a foot pedal, closed = tracking, open = not tracking. Of course hearing the audio is critical, but for now I can use one of my fixed NMO mounts to feed a receiver. But that’s more equipment that needs a place to live, secure while driving, power and cables. Getting a demod on one of the antenna streams would be LOVELY.
I’ve had a hell of a time getting this system up and running, apparently my phone is “evil” somehow. I bought a tablet specifically for this use from verizon (my cell provider) and it was almost painless to get running.
Years of experience in mobile DF says “the less stuff you need to mess with while driving, the better”.
