Discovery drive for parabolic dish

Hello All,

I have a 60 cm diameter offset parabolic satellite dish. Please, would discovery drive be suitable?

The antenna weights about 2 kg I suppose. In the rotator specifications it is stated “suitable for antennas up to 5kg”, so the weight is not a problem.

What about the wind load? Would it break the rotator?

The antenna has no holes, unlike Discovery Dish, it is just continuous metal.

I am sorry to say that I have lost the antenna specifications.

I have never used any antenna rotator, I am a bit lost, sorry about it as well.

Hi, yes that size and weight should work fine. You will need to figure out how you want to mount it though.

But yes you do need to take care of the wind loading. Ideally take the dish down during a storm. Worst case, use the automatic wind tracking feature to stow it perpendicular to the wind.
