Calibrating kerberos sdr with the antennas connected

Hello All,

I think I have found something interesting.

If there are some not too strong signals, I can calibrate kerberos with no antenna disconnection, and all seems to work well, as far as I could check.

If the signal strength exceed the maximum, the calibration stage never ends, and I cannot see wrong DOA estimations with current kraken software version.

This is good for me. It is easier to calibrate kerberos if you do not always need to disconnect antennas!

Has anybody seen this before? Ot perhaps am I wrong?

Thank you.

This is possible, yes, if the spectrum is clear, there is no need to disconnect the antennas. But obviously, if you are tuned to a signal that you want to use for DoA, there will be a signal in your spectrum that can affect calibration. If the signal desired is very weak, the noise source may overcome it, and allow you to calibrate just fine. But if it’s stronger than the noise source you will have problems.
