Brand New- Unable to use/ Open server settings

I have had my Kraken for about a month now. I have yet to successfully use it even once. I thought it was bc the iphone app was brand new maybe (you cannot change your hotspots name on apple, so cannot name it KrakenAndroid for the device to automatically connect to it.) So I went and bought a android phone and got service for it and everything so that I could connect kraken to a mobile hotstpot. I am pulling my hair out. I got as far as getting the system to connect to the hot spot, and even got the control page open on my computer once. But was never able to get the “KrakenSDR Server Settings” Page to load in the andoid app, even when I had it working on laptop. I walked away for a week or so to cool down or else I was gonna have a heart attack. Trying again today, and now I cannot even get the kraken/pi to connect to mobile hotspot. and I cannot get anything to work with connecting phone to the wifi network created by the Pi. Is there a general newb help section here? Someone that could take a minute to walk me though some basics? I have watched every youtube video 69 times, and getting stuck spending HOURS on things they brush over and do in 3 seconds in every video. Any assistance would be awesome.

Are you going through the quickstart guide on the Wiki? That is probably the most step by step guide you’ll get. I wouldn’t use any videos for a tutorial.

Karl thanks for your response. I had started with the quick start guide yes but once I got stuck I went looking for videos to see if I could watch someone do it and see how they got through my sticking point. Today I started with a fresh sd card and flashed the file onto there and it seems to have gotten me back up and running. I am curious if the first one got corrupted or something.

As for the deleted message above- I had a long reply full of questions and issues, but I did a deep dive in the wiki and think I resolved them. For now at least. I didn’t wanna waste your time reading all that considering I seem to have figured it out. Fingers crossed that it all goes smoothly next time I get out on the road with it.

Thanks, Happy hunting!

Marcus
