Antennas for horizontally polarized signals

Has anyone tried hunting a horizontally polarized signal? If so, what antennas did you use and how well did it work?

Back in LA in the 80’s a lot of us used the “Baldy Bounce”. A nice horizontal yagi pointed at Mt Baldy. The reflection would scatter the polarization, and those who didn’t know would take off in that direction, costing a bunch of time/miles.

For horizontally polarized signals it’s probably best to use a circularly polarized antenna like patch or spiral antenna. Otherwise it could be difficult to form them into a grid or circular shape.
