Went on 3 test DF runs with my new Kraken today. All 3 were to base-station GMRS users talking on a repeater.
The first one was about 7 miles away and it took about 40 minutes because i was confused on how the map worked and I wasnt using the turn-by-turn at first. Once i enabled turn-by-turn, it took me right to the house, and told me the house was on the right side of the street but it was actually on the left side… The big antenna array on the roof gave it away…
Second hunt was about 5 miles… it locked on and had me going in the right direction within 2-3 minutes, and pretty much locked in to the actual location within 5-6 minutes, and drove me right to his door…
Third one was 10 miles away… It locked the direction within a few minutes and drove me right to it…
So far VERY impressed!
The next challenge is to locate a serial repeater jammer on one of our GMRS repeaters.
